When I
told him
I was a
writer, he
immediately
responded,
the only
writer he
knew of
was Fyodor
Dostoyevsky.
"Dostoyevsky
was the
finest of
us all!"
I replied
with a
smile
bright as
a dozen
wayward
suns:
optimistic
for the
first time
in years.
