Communication Breakdown by Tony Pena

Thoughts and prayers
dry up like the sand
on them drought days
graying on that neglected

to the high heavens
on highlighted bibles
that they’ve a laser
like focus on finding
the truth , the killer,
yet waste precious
time pointing fingers
at scapegoats meeting
a profile 180 degrees
opposite their own.
